    We arrive in the beautiful city of Rome. Your tour guide and driver will greet you at the airport and transport you to your hotel to settle in and relax. Spend your evening meal getting acquainted and enjoying Rome with your fellow pilgrims.

    PAPAL AUDIENCE - COLOSSEUM

    Today we begin our morning by attending a Papal Audience with Pope Francis in St. Peter's Square. Afterwards, we will also visit the Colosseum, the 3-tiered Roman amphitheater once used for gladiatorial games. We make our way to Assisi in the evening and sleep overnight.

    ASSISI - SIENA

    We begin with a tour of the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi and his tomb where you can see many of his personal possessions and the crucifix that spoke to him, asking him, “Rebuild my Church.” We will also visit the Basilica of St. Clare, which is dedicated to and contains the remains of St. Clare of Assisi. St. Clare is the founder of the Order of Poor Ladies, known today as the Order of St. Clare. In the evening we make our way to Loreto.

    LORETO - SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO

    Today we tour Loreto, the hill town and commune of the Italian province of Ancona. Here we visit the Basilica della Santa Casa, the Holy House of Nazareth, the house where Mary first prayed the Magnificat. Afterwards, we make our way to San Giovanni Rotondo in the afternoon enjoying the beautiful Italian countryside.

    SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO - MONTE CASSINO

    We begin with San Giovanni Rotondo, hometown of St. Padre Pio. We will visit the old church and the crucifix where Padre Pio received the stigmata in 1918. See the confessional where he directed people on their path and also pray before Padre Pio’s incorrupt body. We continue to the stunning view of the Gargano Peninsula to visit the Grotto of Michael the Archangel. Saints, popes, and people from all over the world have visited the grotto seeking the protection and intercession of St. Michael. In the afternoon, we make our way to Monte Cassino to visit the Abbey of Montecassino, the first house of the Benedictine Order and established by St. Benedict circa 529 AD.

    ROME: ST. MARIA MAGGIORE - ST. PETER'S BASILICA

    We start our day by visiting the Basilica of St. Maria Maggiore, which contains a relic from the manger. We celebrate Mass at the Basilica of St. Maria Maggiore. Afterward, we will explore St. Peter’s Basilica in all of its splendor. The basilica was built over St. Peter’s tomb. We end the day by visiting the Pope's tomb and excavated necropolis.

    ROME: VATICAN MUSEUM - CHURCH OF ST. PAUL

    We begin with a visit to the Vatican Museum to see centuries of beautiful artwork and artifacts. See the artworks of Michelangelo, such as, the Pieta and the Sistine Chapel. Afterwards, we visit the marvelous Basilica of St. John Lateran, once the residence for popes. From here, we visit the Scala Sancta, the stairs Christ climbed to stand before Pontius Pilate. Those who wish may climb the stairs, as is the custom, on their knees. We finish the day by visiting the Church of St. Paul, which shelters the relics of St. Paul the Apostle.

    ROME: ST. PHILIP NERI - PANTHEON - TREVI FOUNTAIN

    We begin with the Piazza Venezia, the central hub of Rome in which several thoroughfares intersect. It takes its name from the Palazzo Venezia, built by the Venetian Cardinal, Pietro Barbo. Afterward, we make our way to the Church and House of St. Philip Neri. In the afternoon we visit the Pantheon, former Roman temple completed circa 126 AD. We end our day with the Trevi Fountain, the largest fountain in Rome and one of the most famous fountains in the world.

  • DEPARTURE
